FSA Consulting developed a Waste Management Plan (WMP) for the Clanrye Pty Ltd dairy, Timboon. Its purpose was to provide the basis for managing the manure and liquid effluent from this intensive dairy. The WMP included the relevant procedures, schedules and responsibilities for:

• Operating, maintaining and managing the dairy.
• Monitoring, recording and reporting of dairy operations and their impact on the environment.
• Implementing corrective measures and actions in the event of operational problems and emergencies.

The WMP addresses the key components that enable the assessment of risk to the environment and describes appropriate management practices to avoid or minimise the risk. These components are:
